About this Blog
This blog is run by people who support Chicago 2016. We seek to post “balanced” articles about Chicago’s bid, and encourage people to support the growing movement of young people engaged with the idea and excitement of Chicago’s chance to host the XXXI Olympiad.

We believe the Olympic movement is positive, and has contributed vastly to bridging differences between cultures and people, and encourages the youth of the world in sport. We also believe the Olympic Games can bring numerous benefits to host cities, and that is why over 100 cities around the world have placed a bid for either a Summer or Winter Olympics since 1950.
We fully agree that every city is not equipped or prepared to host an Olympic Games, and every host city will see benefits and drawbacks to hosting. Will a Chicago Olympics be without controversy? Of course not. But we believe that if Chicago secures the 2016 Games, this city has the potential to be transformed for the better, and many projects will be fast tracked to improve the experience for Olympic visitors and citizens of this great city.
The posters on this blog have no affiliation with Chicago 2016. We are just citizens who support their bid.

Thanks for the comment. I had no reason to favour a city until now but your balanced blog and kind comment mean I’ll be rooting for Chicago – although a South American Olympics would be cool!
